Relaxation massage is very similar to a gentle Swedish massage that uses a smooth, gliding stroke. This massage uses light pressure to help you better relax. This massage has less focus on working out serious adhesions or knots in the muscle tissue and  your pain limits will not be pushed in order to get the muscle to release. Often times people fall asleep during a relaxation massage.

In addition to the relaxation benefits there are substantial health benefits to a relaxation massage, including a settling of the nervous system, promoting a sense of well-being, improving blood circulation and stimulating the body’s lymphatic system, which carries away waste products.


Swedish massage is a very common and well known form of massage. If this is your first visit to a massage studio or if you don’t get massage very often, Swedish massage is the perfect massage for you.

If you want deeper work and can tolerate more pressure, even momentary discomfort, to get relief from muscle pain, it’s better to book a myofascial (deep tissue) massage, which is another form of Swedish massage.

A Swedish massage may be slow and gentle but can be adapted for your own needs.

Hot Stone

Hot Stone massage is a specialty massage where smooth, heated stones are used as either an extension of the hands, or by placing them on the body while massaging other parts of the body. The heat can be both deeply relaxing and help warm up tight muscles so that muscles can be worked more deeply, more quickly.


Myofascial (or deep tissue) massage is a gentle soft tissue therapy for the treatment of skeletal muscle immobility and pain. The myofascial method engages muscle tension with consistent force until a muscular release occurs. We gently massage the muscles to slowly stretch the stressed regions moving slowly through the layers of the fascia until the deep tissues are reached.


Pregnancy (prenatal) massage is a wonderful choice for additional prenatal care. It reduces anxiety and stress, promotes  wellness, relieves discomfort experienced during pregnancy, such as backaches, stiff neck, leg cramps, headaches and edema (or swelling).

In addition, massage for pregnant women reduces stress on weight-bearing joints, encourages blood and lymph circulation, helps to relax nervous tension — which aids in better sleep — and can help relieve depression or anxiety caused by hormonal changes.


Sports massage was originally designed to aid athletes in preparing for optimal performance, recover after a big event, or function well during training. Sports massage emphasizes prevention and healing of injuries to the muscles and tendons.

However, you don’t have to be an athlete to enjoy the benefits of a sports massage. Sports massage is also good for people with any type of injury, chronic pain or restricted range of motion. Typically, in a sports massage we’ll focus on a specific problem region for the majority of the session (I.E. sore neck and shoulders, legs, or mid section).
